Ultra-High Performance Concrete (UHPC), also known as reactive powder concrete (RPC), is an exceptionally strong and durable construction material. It boasts a minimum compressive strength of 17,000 psi (120 MPa) along with specific requirements for durability, tensile ductility, and toughness, often achieved by incorporating various fibers into the mixture. UHPC composition typically includes portland cement, supplementary cementitious materials, reactive powders, fine sand, water reducers, and water, enabling it to reach compressive strengths exceeding 29,000 psi (200 MPa).

This material's unique properties allow it to exhibit ductile behavior, deforming and supporting loads even after cracking, making it a groundbreaking development in concrete technology. Additionally, UHPC's high compressive and tensile strengths result in excellent bond strength. Its self-compacting nature simplifies casting, and its dense, low-porosity matrix prevents the penetration of harmful substances like chlorides, enhancing its durability.

At Concrete Design School, we take pride in utilizing Kodiak Pro Maker Mix and Kodiak Pro RADmix, which are the exclusive UHPC products developed specifically to cater to the decorative concrete industry.
