The Concrete Design School on a snowy evening. On the first day of the Ramm-Crete Workshop, a blizzard blew in, but we persevered.
Sometimes the best learning happens when conditions are less than perfect.
That was the story of our most recent Ramm-Crete Workshop at Concrete Design School. A blizzard rolled in on day one, temperatures dropped, travel got interesting, and still, artisans from across the United States showed up ready to build. And that told us everything we needed to know.
This class was not just a workshop. It was a proving ground.
The Mission, Learn Real-World Ramm-Crete Craft
Everyone who walked through the door had the same goal. Learn how to create thin-sectioned, rammed earth aesthetic concrete products that look refined, intentional, and high-end, while still being durable enough for real client work.
Over a day and a half, we covered the full process of Ramm-Crete furniture, cladding, sinks, and architectural elements, blending hands-on making with the kind of practical knowledge that only comes from decades in the field.
No theory without application. No fluff without function.
What We Built Together
One of the core builds was a Ramm-Crete table, combining form, texture, and structural clarity.
Attendees constructed Ramm-Crete table bases, learning compaction techniques, material control, and surface expression.
We cast SCC GFRC tabletops using Kodiak Pro Maker Mix, dialing in flow, fiber reinforcement, and finish quality.
Each tabletop was sealed with ICT Reactive Sealer, demonstrating how professional sealing elevates durability, stain resistance, and client confidence.
Every step was explained in context. Why this mix. Why this method. What mistakes cost you money in the real world, and how to avoid them.
Hands-On Learning That Goes Home With You
Beyond the shared builds, each attendee made custom Ramm-Crete samples to take home. These were not souvenirs. They were reference pieces.
Texture control, color variation, compaction strategy, edge treatment, all captured in physical samples that can be shown to clients or used as the starting point for future designs.
This is how skills stick. You build it, you hold it, you remember it.
The Real Win, Confidence and Capability
Despite the storm, the compressed schedule, and the sheer volume of information, everyone stayed locked in. The room stayed focused. Questions got deeper. Ideas got sharper.
By the end of the workshop, every attendee walked away with:
A working understanding of Ramm-Crete systems
New skills they can immediately apply to concrete furniture, sinks, countertops, tile, and cladding
The confidence to offer these products to clients without guessing
A clearer path to standing out in a crowded decorative concrete market
That is the transformation we design every class around.
Learn From People Who Actually Do the Work
If you are serious about learning decorative concrete, not just watching videos or copying recipes, where you learn matters.
At Concrete Design School, you are learning from artisans who have owned and operated concrete businesses for more than 23 years, continuously. You are learning from the people who developed the mixes, materials, and sealers used by professionals worldwide.
This is not a hobby class. This is career knowledge.
Next Up, The Fundamentals Workshop
We have a Fundamentals Workshop coming up in just a couple of weeks, and it is the best entry point into the decorative concrete industry.
In that class, you will learn the core systems behind:
Concrete sinks
Concrete countertops
Concrete furniture
Concrete tile
If you are ready to build skills that translate directly into paid work, this is where you start.
We would love to see you there, tools in hand, ready to build something real.
