2.5-DAY FURNITURE DESIGN WORKSHOP / AUGUST 16-18, 2024 / Goddard, KS, U.S.A.

from $1,225.00

In a world flooded with mass-produced, disposable furniture crafted by impersonal machines, there's a palpable yearning for something authentic, something that bears the touch of human hands and ages gracefully over time. We crave furniture designed for humans, by humans—pieces with durability, longevity, and a story to tell, one that whispers of being lovingly handmade. In today's modern era, such craftsmanship is a rare gem, and that's precisely what this workshop aims to celebrate.

Over the course of 2.5 enriching days, we'll collaborate to conceive and craft a unique piece of furniture—one that you'll proudly take home with you at the workshop's end. Together, we'll delve into design essentials, explore the fundamentals of working with concrete, master the art of form building, and learn the ins and outs of professionally casting, curing, and finishing concrete creations.

It's crucial to understand that this class is more than just a workshop; it's an expedition into the realms of creativity and exploration. Expect setbacks, anticipate challenges, for it's through failure that we glean invaluable insights. Failure isn't a setback here—it's a stepping stone, a vital component of the learning process. Some workshop pieces may surpass expectations, while others may fall short, but each carries a lesson worth cherishing.

Guiding us through this transformative experience is Brandon Gore, the visionary behind Gore Design Co. and Hard Goods, and a distinguished judge on the acclaimed furniture design competition 'Framework.' Held at Brandon's exclusive studio nestled in Goddard, Kansas, U.S.A., this class promises an immersive journey into the artistry of concrete craftsmanship.

When it comes to training, experience speaks volumes, and Brandon Gore is a trailblazer in the realm of cutting-edge concrete techniques. Remember, quality education is an investment in yourself, in your future. Don't settle for mediocrity—embrace the opportunity to elevate your skills and unleash your creative potential.
